A "Pocket Park" was created at the corner of Franklin and Washington Streets. The Strohm family of West Union donated the site to the Village of Palestine and it has since been deeded over to the Palestine Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber paid to have the building cleared from the site and then Village employees and volunteers removed the concrete foundation.  Recently, students from Palestine High School have worked to install wooden fencing at each corner.
